About Me
My background and training was initially in teaching and working with children with special needs and I have a long standing interest in working with children and young people. I also have over 20 years experience working on and managing Community Education Projects and lecturing in Further and Higher Education.
After retraining as a counsellor I gained experience in a range of different contexts and settings. This includes working in community counselling services, as a counsellor in a primary school and in a hospice where I co-ordinated the counselling service and developed specialist provision for children and young people. I also deliver training and teach on counselling courses. This includes previous work as a Programme Manager on Diploma and B.A. in Counselling Courses and ongoing teaching work for the Open University.
I am a fully qualified, experienced and accredited member of the British Association For Counsellors and Psychotherapists and work within their ethical framework. My private practice is well established with links with Employment Assistant Programmes and Occupational Health Schemes.
